Adopt a US Soldier Terms and Conditions

Adopt a US Soldier Terms and Conditions:

Welcome to Adopt a U.S. Soldier Web sites (the “Sites”).  These Terms and Conditions of Use constitute an Agreement (“Agreement”) between Adopt a U.S. Soldier, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively “AAUSS”) and you (“You” or “User”).  By accessing and using Adopt a US Soldier Web sites, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions of Use and any amendments in effect at the time of your visit.  This Agreement expressly incorporates by reference and includes Adopt a US Soldier’s’ Privacy Policy and any guidelines, rules or disclaimers that may be posted and updated on AAUSS’ Sites.  You understand that your right to use the Sites is derived solely from, and is expressly limited by, this Agreement.  AAUSS reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions of Use from time to time.  We encourage You to review these Terms and Conditions upon each visit to the Sites because any changes will be binding on the User.

Adopt a US Soldier was founded as a way for supportive civilians to provide support to US troops overseas. Our program asks that you send weekly letters through the mail. Your level of support is up to you. We do not guarantee that you will hear from your service member as their first priority is the reason they are deployed. We are not a penpal site.

We are not a dating site. Any use of our site in a manner deemed not appropriate will result in termination. If either party, supporter or service member, have any concerns, they should send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Any service member’s information provided by Adopt a US Soldier is for the sole purpose of the Adopt a US Soldier program and shall not be shared in any way without the written permission of Adopt a US Soldier or service member assigned.

Operational Security (OPSEC) and Personal Security (PERSEC) are of the utmost importance to our deployed service members. By registering for this site, you agree to follow our OPSEC/PERSEC Guidelines, which include, but are not limited to the following:

You will not share the details of your service member (name, mailing address, email address, unit information, troop movements, capabilities, deployment location, end of tour dates, etc.) with anyone outside of the staff of this organization
You will not attempt to find, “friend,” or contact your assigned service member via social media. If your assigned service member sends you a request to connect via social media, you may accept, if you choose.

Program Guidelines

Each member is permitted one account, and a maximum of 3 assigned service members at a time. There is a 30 day wait after a service member is assigned before you can request another soldier to support, and you must be able to support all assigned service members equally. We do not take requests for gender, branch of service, age, marital status, location, or other special requests. We do not “switch out” service members once they have been assigned, unless there is evidence of misconduct provided to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

If you receive returned mail for your service member, or if you know your soldier has returned home, you will notify us by sending an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

You agree to support your assigned service member through their entire deployment, whether or not you hear from them. In the event you need to cease supporting our assigned soldiers, you will contact us via email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or notify AAUSS through your account.
